What is an Expert Knowledge Network?
Subject Matter is the first private expert knowledge network platform that surrounds students with individual success hubs and support teams. Supporting students inside and outside the classroom using real-time collaborative technology. Connecting students to experts across, and beyond, the campus. Giving them access to critical human resources, anytime, anyplace, on the devices they use everyday.
Why have a private expert knowledge network?
When we introduced online learning technologies and remote conveniences we did not realize that we where decreasing access to physical people, and the valuable human connection.
New state and federal laws require on-line and off-campus students receive the same level of support as their own campus cohorts. Based on these regulations and laws, schools are at risk of losing funding and accreditation.
It’s time we put the people back in the education equation by surrounding students with the critical resources they need. Giving us capabilities to increase admissions yield and improve retention, graduation, and placement and meet the requirements of new regulation.
What does it do?
Subject Matter bridges the communications gap and empowers an equal level of student services to all on and off campus students, while integrating directly into your schools learning management and student information systems, streamlining and automating workflow, communications access and critical reporting.
Subject Matter Benefits:
Students have the power to initiate audio/video meetings with their individual success teams, micro-networks, and even their peers. Connecting to counselors, advisors, financial aid officers, tutors, help desk, instructors, mentors, alumni and other students. Just like they would as if they where on campus.
For Faculty and Staff:
Faculty and staff have the power to control their online SubjectMatter availability and office hours. They decide when, how long, and which students can connect to them, exactly in the same way they control their on campus office hours, but with the added convenience of on-demand, and availability scheduling. Integrated directly into their own calendar.
Administrators have the power to manage enterprise scheduling across individual departments and teams, review individual meeting archives, chat histories, track data, reporting and analytics. By pinning users to each other, and creating student and faculty success hubs, administrators can on-the-fly create support systems that allow each individual to be successful.
Subject Matter Summary
With a robust enterprise scheduling platform, connected to video conferencing tools built for education, and integrated directly with your learning management system and student information system platforms and information websites, students can get access to the experts they need, when, and where, they need them.
